OnStar Extends Service With Airbiquity
Airbiquity's aqLink Software Will Continue to Serve as Communication Link for Millions of Subscribers

SEATTLE, Wash. – Today, Airbiquity Inc announced an extension of its service with OnStar, the nation’s leading provider of in-vehicle safety, security and communication services. Airbiquity, a leading developer of wireless in-band modem software solutions for automobile manufacturers and suppliers, will continue to provide OnStar with its aqLink software, which facilitates the exchange of vital information with drivers nationwide.

“Airbiquity has become a trusted supplier and fills a key role in providing OnStar with dependable, effective technology solutions,” said Nick Pudar, Vice President Planning and Business Development for OnStar.

After extensive testing with competitive technology providers, OnStar again chose to integrate Airbiquity’s unique approach to over-the-air data transfer into its popular in-vehicle communication devices. Since 2003, Airbiquity’s aqLink software has made it possible for OnStar subscribers to utilize digital wireless voice channels to receive real-time location-based services, which now include roadside assistance, vehicle diagnostics, turn-by-turn navigation, airbag notification, remote door unlock, stolen vehicle location and much more. By employing voice networks rather than relying on conventional wireless data systems for safety and security applications, aqLink expands OnStar’s coverage area and makes data transmission more cost effective.

“The extension of our relationship with OnStar will allow subscribers to continue receiving exceptional data communications while providing OnStar with the means to expand current offerings to subscribers,” said Kamyar Moinzadeh, president and CEO for Airbiquity. “This renewal of our relationship demonstrates that OnStar continues to consider Airbiquity among its trusted technology providers.”
