CES 2017 Cockpit Demo-500.jpgCES 2017

CES gets bigger and better every year, and the 2017 show was no exception. Airbiquity showcased our latest multi-ECU over-the-air (OTA) Software & Data Management solution using a new "cockpit" demo, and announced two technology integrations with Vector and STMicroelectronics.

  • Vector is a manufacturer of automotive electronic systems, components, networking, and software tools. Airbiquity collaborated with Vector to enable AUTOSAR (Automotive Open Systems Architecture) compliant multi-ECU OTA software updates. By combining Airbiquity’s Software & Data Management offering with Vector’s Flash Bootloader and communication ECUs, automakers now have an AUTOSAR standard compliant solution allowing them to increase the efficiency of program development while decreasing time to market.
  • ST is a global semiconductor company serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications. Airbiquity integrated its Software & Data Management offering into ST's Telemaco family of telematics and connectivity processors. The result is a cost effective, secure, out-of-the box solution for delivering OTA software updates to multiple vehicle devices. Core components of this initiative are Airbiquity’s Software & Data Management product and current and future ST Telemaco connectivity and telematics processors which power application areas such as vehicle gateways, entertainment systems, and telematics and connectivity systems. The two companies have validated the performance of the initial integration, and plan to continue collaborating for further solution optimization.

MWC Demo-500.jpgMobile World Congress 2017

Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona featured continue collaboration between Airbiquity and STMicroelectronics (ST). ST hosted Airbiquity in their MWC exhibit's Smart Driving area to demonstrate the integration of Airbiquity’s OTA Software & Data Management offering into ST's Telemaco3 Evaluation Board (EVB) platform. The demo illustrated the interoperability between the Airbiquity cloud-based OTA service and the on-board ST Telemaco3 EVB platform in a variety of software update campaign scenarios and typical Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) OTA use cases.

The Telemaco family of devices provides high bandwidth connectivity and processing capability to handle wireless data management for automotive telematics applications. Moreover, it controls the vehicle CAN bus through an independent Georg MWC Demo-500.jpgand isolated Cortex-M subsystem running a dedicated real-time OS. With its flexible memory and CPU cores configurations, Telemaco processors allow implementation of scalable systems throughout a wide variety of car connectivity applications requiring rich Linux OS and other Posix OS’s.

Airbiquity’s Software & Data Management offering is designed to efficiently orchestrate and automate highly targeted, scalable, and secure multi-ECU software updates and data collection for connected vehicles. The solution features a sophisticated back-end management capability enabling campaign targeting, configuration, approvals, and administration—and is fully scalable to easily accommodate the varied geographic, volume, and IT hosting requirements of automakers and suppliers.
