Airbiquity Marks Major Milestone: 10 Million Units On The Road
Industry's Largest Installed Base Highlights Airbiquity's Ability to Meet Global Market Demand and Growth Projections

SEATTLE, WA – Airbiquity (www.airbiquity.com), a global leader in wireless communication solutions, today announced the 10 millionth deployment of its patented aqLink in-band software modem technology.

Airbiquity’s technology is used by the world’s leading automakers to enable secure, dependable two-way data connections between vehicles and telematics service providers. With aqLink data is delivered rapidly and reliably over the cellular voice network via an embedded module, or wirelessly through a Bluetooth hands-free system, ensuring the greatest connectivity and largest coverage area possible. In addition, Airbiquity’s platform-independent and portable software architecture enables fast and seamless integration into various products, greatly reducing cost and time-to-market requirements. The software, which annually ships millions of units on a variety of premier wireless modules and chipsets, is commercially available today.

The deployment of Airbiquity’s 10 millionth in-band modem demonstrates the company’s proven ability to meeting the growing demand for large-scale wireless data transport solutions. The company has more than 11 years’ experience in the telematics industry and powers the majority of machine-to-machine connections in North America. Airbiquity is also playing an active role in the European eCall initiative with its in-band modem technology solution being considered as part of the standardization.

As a key component of the Airbiquity end-to-end system, the aqLink full-duplex modem enables a large number of sought-after telematics applications, including SOS emergency service and automatic crash notification, stolen vehicle tracking and slowdown, concierge services, remote diagnostics, vehicle health reports and infotainment applications – each of which support consumer demand for increasingly-sophisticated services to enhance their driving experience.

"We would like to thank our customers for choosing Airbiquity and together we’re proud to have reached this important milestone," said Airbiquity CEO and President, Kamyar Moinzadeh. "Our technology’s ability to enable our customers’ telematics solutions helps millions of people utilize safety, security and time-critical services when they are needed most. The popularity of these applications is a strong testament to the robust nature, quality and value of our products."

"Airbiquity has distinguished itself with a unique and proven solution for vehicle connectivity thanks to its many successful commercial implementations," said Phil Magney, VP of automotive business practice at TRG (now part of iSuppli) "The wins by Airbiquity solidify their position as a major supplier to the global telematics industry."
